Eligibility criteria set by the Jobcenter/Agentur für Arbeit
These are main criteria that need to be fulfilled in order to be eligible for an educational voucher. You need to be registered in Germany with a valid residence permit/visa. The official registration process (Anmeldung) must be completed at your local Citizen’s Office (Bürgerbüro) and you must have the official registration document (Anmeldungsbescheinigung). You need to be unemployed and struggling to find a job or soon to be unemployed. You also need to be registered or in process of registering at the Employment agency that corresponds with your address. Furthermore, you are not eligible for a Bildungsgutschein if you are a student and in Germany on a student visa. Also if you are over the age of 55 you are unlikely to receive a Bildungsgutschein as you are approaching retirement age in Germany. You can find more info on our FAQ page.
